Coronation Double Century (Cape Town, 2 September 2009) The 2009 Coronation Double Century Cycle Challenge now offers a fantastic prize of R8,000 for the first complete team of 12 cyclists to cross the finish line. All 12 cyclists in the team have to finish within 1 minute of each other in order to be crowned the Fundamental Finishers. In order to qualify for the prize, team members must also all wear their timing chips. The prize is valid across all five categories. Fundamental Software (www.fundamental.net) is sponsoring this new prize. “The Coronation DC is all about team work and at Fundamental we know that a team is only as strong as its weakest link. We hope that the Fundamental Finishers prize will inject some friendly competition amongst the teams taking part in this grueling race, says CEO Craig Arenhold. Entries for the 205km Coronation DC opened on 18 August. Only the first 2500 cyclists (roughly 200 teams) will be accepted. To date over 100 teams have already confirmed their participation. To enter, register your team at www.coronationdc.co.za. Teams can enter in one of the following five categories: Male Racing, Female Racing, Mixed Racing, Tandem Racing or Social. No new team entries will be accepted after 23 October 2009. Follow the Coronation Double Century on Twitter: http://twitter.com/coronationdc |
