GABORONE, BOTSWANA – (29 May 2015). Fundamental Software today announced its second client in Botswana. Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund (BPOPF), based in Gaborone, will use the Fundamental Portfolio Manager (FPM) system as its core Investment Management system. This is the result of an extensive systems selection process managed by KPMG which also included BPOPF selecting the Fundworx system by Southern X as their core Member Administration system.

The BPOPF’s vision is “To develop an operating model that is cost effective, utilises the in house skills of BPOPF, contributes to skills development in the local market and provides members with the service they expect. BPOPF aims to address some of these challenges by in-sourcing both Fund Administration and Investment Management functions to create a customer-centric, operationally efficient platform that adds organisational value.”

BPOPF will make use of Fundamental‘s hosted service, a cloud based offering of the FPM software provided in partnership with RSAWEB, a leading provider of cloud based solutions.

Fundamental is actively expanding into Africa and now has 3 clients in Namibia and 2 in Botswana in addition to an established client base in South Africa including many leading Investment Companies and service providers such as Allan Gray, Taquanta, Personal Trust, PSG Asset Management, Investment Data Services (IDS) and Global Independent Administrators (GIA).
